The Indian spinner seemed animated in the 2nd Test as Bairstow was dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah. The moment caught the attention of the fans who were thinking of the reason behind Ashwin giving a sendoff to the middle-order batter in the middle.
Bumrah bowled a cracker of a delivery to the England batter. The right-arm pace delivered the ball on a good length. The ball moved into the right-hander sharply. Bairstow moved across to play the ball and missed it completely. The ball hit the top of the pads and the Indian team made a huge appeal. The umpire took some time before raising his fingers.

Bairstow was surprised that the umpire declared him out. He went up to Ben Stokes who was in the non-striker’s end and asked if it would be worth taking a review. As Stokes supported the move of his teammate, Bairstow reviewed the decision. England regretted their decision as the batter was declared out even after taking the review.
Ravichandran Ashwin’s sendoff to Jonny Bairstow
India celebrated the wicket as it was one of the main key wickets in the context of the match. Bairstow is known for chasing huge targets. It was evident that the Indian players were happy with the wicket. Ashwin seemed to be not just happy but pumped up as well. The off-spinner gave an aggressive sendoff to Bairstow after the wicket. Jonny Bairstow had no clue why Ashwin decided to give him a sendoff.
After the sendoff, Bairstow was visibly angry at Ashwin. On his way back to the pavilion, Bairstow had something to say to the Indian spinner. While it is not sure what Bairstow said to Ashwin, it seemed like the 37-year-old did not care about what the star batter had to say. India got the wicket of Stokes thanks to a brilliant throw from Shreyas Iyer. The home side are now three wickets away from claiming the win.
