Indian-origin player Nikhil Chaudhary is making a name for himself during the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) season. The 27-year-old who was born in New Delhi is soon becoming one of the most prominent batters in the league.

On Sunday hosts Brisbane Heat were taking on Hobart Hurricanes in the 29th game of the season. Pace bowler Michael Neser was bowling to Chaudhary in the fifth over of the Hurricanes innings.

The 27-year-old batter just stepped down the ground and hit Neser into the long-on region for a huge six. The ball went way into the stands and hit the top of the second tier of the Gabba Stadium in Brisbane.

Nikhil Chaudhary continues to weave his magic –

After making his move to Australia, Nikhil Chaudhary has seen his fortunes swing upwards. Just four years ago, the right-handed batter was playing in India turning out for Punjab. His last game was in the domestic T20 tournament in India against Mumbai.

Mumbai had players like Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, and Shardul Thakur. The visitors had scored 243/5 with Iyer and Yadav scoring 80 runs each while Chaudhary conceded 33 runs from his two overs. With the bat, Nikhil Chaudhary could only score five runs before falling to Tushar Deshpande.

Playing his in the Big Bash League this year, the young star from Hobart has managed to impress. In his first game this season, the 27-year-old scored 40 against defending champions Perth Scorchers.

It was the game against Melbourne Stars that catapulted Nikhil Chaudhary into fame. Haris Rauf was bowling fast till Nikhil Chaudhary carted him over the point region for a flat six. The shot shocked the Pakistani bowler and the large crowd that was watching in Hobart.

Speaking about the game, Brisbane Heat batted first and scored 132/7 from their 20 overs. Skipper Colin Munro led the charge as he top-scored with 56 runs from 47 balls. Paul Walter with 22 and Josh Brown with 19 were the other contributors with the bat.

Chris Jordan was the lead wicket-taker as he picked 3/19 from his four overs. Nathan Ellis continued his good form picking two wickets, while Dooley and Chaudhary picked a wicket each.
