Musheer Khan hit a sensational helicopter shot in the U19 World Cup 2024 match against New Zealand. The brother of Sarfaraz Khan was brilliant in the game against New Zealand in the ongoing tournament. In the innings, Musheer pulled off an incredible shot in the death overs off Mason Clarke’s bowling.

Clarke was the best bowler of the day for New Zealand. To hit him for a six in the match was a great feat. Mason pitched the ball the full length. The left-arm, pacer attempted a Yorker against the middle-order batter. But Clarke ended up missing the length completely. As a result, Musheer got a freebie from the pacer.

Watch the video of the shot here:

A well-set right-handed batter happily accepted the gift from the Kiwi youngster and made no mistake in fetching maximum runs. Musheer timed the ball well and hit a perfect helicopter shot, just like MS Dhoni, towards the deep mid-wicket region. The boundary in the region was 86 meters, which was very long. But the timing of the set batter fetched six runs for the batter.

Consistency of Musheer Khan

He seemed to enjoy the shot very much. The commentators raved praises for the batter who has been so good in the ongoing tournament for India. In the match against NZ, Musheer scored 131 runs, which is now the 2nd highest score for a batter in the ongoing tournament. To do it against a good side like NZ is a great feat.

At a very young age, Musheer has shown promise. In the match against Ireland, the middle-order batter scored a good hundred and was instrumental in India’s win. In the game against the USA, Musheer scored a fifty. His knock against NZ was undoubtedly the best in the tournament so far.

The knock of Musheer helped India to post 295 runs on the board, which is a good total considering the nature of the wicket. On a slow wicket that has longer boundaries, it is tough to chase the target. India would be looking forward to defending the target.
