WATCH: MS Dhoni sings ‘Salaam-E-Ishq meri jaan’, video goes viral on internet within seconds

On Friday, July 7, former legendary Indian captain and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni’s 42nd birthday was celebrated by his supporters all across the world. Due to all of his services to India, practically every cricket fan in that country adores the legendary wicketkeeper. And since the legend was born on July 7, it becomes a significant day for all of his followers.

Meanwhile, Dhoni’s former CSK teammate and current Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Mohit Sharma shared an unseen video of Dhoni singing a Bollywood song. In the clip, Dhoni can be seen singing a famous song of legendary singers Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar ‘Salaam-E-Ishq meri Jaan’. Many fans reacted to the video and appreciated the hidden talent of the legendary cricketer.

MS Dhoni’s wonderful international career

MS Dhoni had a dazzling international cricket career before he retired, one that was adorned with numerous records. Over the span of 350 ODIs, Dhoni amassed 10,773 runs at an average of 50.57. He recorded 73 fifty-scores and 10 centuries for India, with the highest score being 183*. With 18,426 runs, Sachin Tendulkar is leading the way in ODIs while Dhoni is India’s fifth-highest scorer in ODIs and the 11th most successful batter. 

On the pitch, Dhoni is renowned for his serenity and composure. His ability to remain calm under duress enabled him to amass a sizable fan base. Additionally, Dhoni is the only skipper in history to have captured all three of the major world titles. On August 15, 2020, the right-handed hitter declared his retirement. Despite this, he kept competing in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The 16th season of the lucrative league was won by CSK under Dhoni which was also their fifth IPL championship for CSK under the legendary skipper. Along with Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Mumbai Indians, who has also won 5 IPL titles, he also became the joint most successful captain in IPL history.
