KL Rahul was a happy man after India’s series win over South Africa on Thursday. The 78-run win in Paarl meant that India took the series with a 2-1 margin. Virat Kohli was the first Indian captain to win an ODI series in South Africa and KL Rahul has emulated that feat.

The day belonged to Sanju Samson and Arshdeep Singh who engineered the India win. 29-year-old Sanju Samson scored a memorable ton to send a message to the selectors. Left-arm-pacer Arshdeep Singh finished the series with 10 wickets to add to his growing reputation.

For the South African team, this was a heartbreaking loss as the Indian team did not have its major stars. The T20I series was level at 1-1 with the first game in Durban getting washed out. Team India had bossed the 1st game in Johannesburg before losing the second match in Gqeberha before the dominating win on Thursday.

KL Rahul could be heard asking “Keshav Bhai, every time you come, they play this song”. The South African spinner just replied “Yeah” as both players shared a brief smile before play resumed.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul was in full praise for Sanju Samson who scored his maiden century for India on Thursday. Speaking at the end of the game, Rahul Said “Sanju has been a phenomenal performer in the IPL, unfortunately, hasn’t got a lot of chances at the top of the order for various reasons but nice to see him do well today.”

After India’s win the stand-in skipper also praised the youngsters in the side. “Always love being around the boys. Nice to get back on the cricket field after a disappointing World Cup. Have played with a lot of them in the IPL, nice to get out here and play with them. Usually, my message is to always enjoy the game, to give your best, and not worry about the rest.”
