WATCH: Harry Brook’s stunning catch near boundary line in The Hundred

Northern Superchargers and Welsh Fire clashed against each other in the 30th match of the ongoing The Hundred at the Headingley in Leeds on Tuesday, August 22. Welsh displayed a brilliant batting performance and defeated Superchargers by 8 wickets that too with 10 balls to spare.

Meanwhile, a video is getting viral on social media in which Superchargers’ star batter Harry Brook took a brilliant catch at the boundary rope. Jonny Bairstow went for a big shot in the 82nd ball of the 2nd innings but he was undone by a brilliant piece of fielding from Brook. He took it inches inside the fence and lobbed it before going over. Then again lobbed it as the ball was going over, Adam Hose was nearby and grabbed it. Excellent footwork from Brook and a superb bit of thinking under pressure.

Brilliant batting display by Welsh Fire

Talking about the match, batting first, the Superchargers started horribly as they lost their 4 wickets on just 28 runs after playing 33 deliveries. No batter was able to do anything special for the team except Brook who smashed a magnificent century and helped his team to achieve a respectable total of 158 runs.

Brook remained unbeaten on the score of 105 runs which came off just 42 balls. During this, he smashed 11 fours and 7 sixes with a mind-boggling strike rate of 250. David Willey was the star with the ball for Welsh as he took 2 wickets and conceded only 10 runs in the 15 balls he bowled. David Payne was the most expensive bowler as he leaked 53 runs in 20 balls and picked up only 1 wicket.

Chasing the target, openers Stephen Eskinazi and Jonny Bairstow provided a cracking start to the team as both stitched a 77-run stand for the first wicket. Eskinazi smashed 58 runs off just 28 balls while Bairstow scored 44 runs off 39 deliveries. Joe Clarke carried the momentum forward by playing an unbeaten knock off 42 runs off 22 balls which included 5 fours and 2 sixes and helped the team to win the match by 8 wickets.
