WATCH: Fan claims India’s win in first T20I against Australia as revenge of ODI World Cup final 2023

Despite some hiccups towards the end, India registered a thrilling win against Australia in the first T20I of the series in Vishakhapatnam on November 23. The home side won the first match of the ongoing bilateral against Australia to take a 1-0 lead in the series. The knocks of Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Rinku Singh helped India to clinch a win against Australia.

Chasing 209, India lost the early wickets of Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad. Kishan struggled to get going in the run chase from his end. But Suryakumar seemed at his usual best with the bat. From a difficult situation, Yadav uplifted the Indian innings with his calculative power hitting. The aggressive batter helped India to be ahead of the run chase with his timely boundaries. It helped Kishan at the other end as well.

As Yadav got settled, Kishan hit some quick boundaries and gave a big lead to India in the run chase. The two batters brought down the equation almost to run a ball towards the 18th over. But at the other end, the batters did not bat sensibly. The wickets fell on a constant basis. Axar Patel, Tilak Varma and others struggled to get set and score runs.

Fans feel ecstatic about India’s win

Rinku Singh somehow managed to take India home with his finishing skills. The Southpaw hit the winning runs and helped India to script their highest-ever run chase in the history of T20Is. The win of India turned out to be a solace for the Indian fans, who were hurt by the loss of India in the ODI World Cup final against Australia earlier this week.

One such fan claimed India’s win in the match as revenge for the final earlier this week. When asked about his opinion on India’s win, the fan said “Aaj India World Cup ka poora badla liya. Surya bhai bahut accha khele. Aur Kishan bhai bhi bahut accha khele. Specially Rinku Singh bahut se bahut accha khele. Isiliye hum World Cup ka badla le sake.”
