Babar Azam was offered more money in the GT20 League Canada

Reportedly, Babar Azam was offered more money for lesser days to play in the GT20 League Canada as compared to the LPL. However, Babar chose to play in Sri Lanka to get used to the conditions. Babar will be playing in Sri Lanka during the Asia Cup ODI 2023. Therefore, the LPL presented a great opportunity for Babar to get used to the conditions there.

Popular Pakistani Sports Journalist Farid Khan reported the story on Twitter saying, “Babar Azam’s father has confirmed via Instagram that he was getting more money in an offer to play 10 days in GT20 Canada in excellent weather than he’s getting in 25 days of Lanka Premier League in humid conditions in Sri Lanka, but Babar preferred to play in LPL because Pakistan have Asia Cup coming up in Sri Lanka and it would help him and his team in the World Cup too. Babar put Pakistan above money and his contract in Canada for the sake of the county. Ma Shaa Allah.  Alhamdulillah for Babar.”
