It came a day after Royal Challengers Bangalore announced the cash trade of Green with Mumbai Indians.

MI got hold of Hardik Pandya for IPL 2024, thanks to a cash deal with Gujarat Titans. Hence, MI did not need Green for IPL 2024. RCB sensed the opportunity and asked for a cash deal. It was confirmed and the deal was announced by both the franchises online. Green expressed his excitement to play for RCB in the IPL 2024.
