It seems that Pakistan Cricket controversies are refusing to die down. After the first two wins, the 1992 winners went on to lose four games and are on the brink of elimination once again. The last time they played the semis was way back in 2011 against arch-rivals India. Meanwhile, during the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, the team is reported to not have been paid by the board in the last five months.

Not to forget, former skipper Rashid Latif has claimed that PCB chairperson Zaka Ashraf has been getting multiple messages from Babar Azam regarding salaries but to no avail.

“I know for a fact that Babar has got no response from the Chairman (Zaka Ashraf) when he called and messaged from India,” Latif claimed on the state-owned PTV sports channel.

“The players have not got salaries… the Chairman is not responding to the captain and in these circumstances what do we expect from the team.”

However, Ashraf has refuted the claims made by the former Pakistan wicketkeeper.

“He [Latif] says that I don’t pick up his [Babar’s] call,” Ashraf clarified. “He’s never given me a call. The chief operating officer or the director of international cricket are expected to speak with the captain of the team.”

Meanwhile, talking about the World Cup campaign for the Asian side, they have three games left. They need to win every game and hope for the likes of England, New Zealand, and Australia lose their remaining three games
