In the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, one team that has disappointed a lot is none other than the defending champions England. Despite having a great side, the Jos Buttler-led side has failed to play at their potential and is currently on the verge of elimination. The team will now have to win the next four games against teams like hosts India, arch-rival Australia, and in-form South Africa.

However, ahead of the marquee England vs. Australia clash, Aussie skipper Pat Cummins reacted to England’s recent loss against Sri Lanka. While addressing a pre-match presser in Dharamshala, Cummins was asked about his reaction to England’s humiliating loss against Sri Lanka. In response, Cummins burst into laughter and gave a chicky reply to the query.

Here is the video of Pat Cummins:

After mentioning New Zealand players as good friends, an Australian reporter asked Cummins, “You mentioned good friends in other teams. It must have been heartbreaking to see England suffer last  night.”In response, the 31-year-old pacer chuckled and said, “Yeah, obviously got them in a couple of games. We’ll have a close look then. But yeah, it’s very sad to see… don’t have much for it now.”

England will need to bounce back against India

After three back-to-back defeats, the defending champions are on the verge of elimination. The team will need to regroup as soon as possible and start winning games to stay alive in the ongoing tournament. England must win all four of their remaining games to advance to the Semifinals. They will be facing hosts India at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday.

After that, the team will be travelling to Ahmedabad to face arch-rival Australia at Narendra Modi Stadium on November 4. After that, England will lock horns with the Netherlands on November 4 in Pune and Pakistan on November 11 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. All these four games will be do-or-die for the defending champions, as they have just two points in the first five games.
