The much-awaited semi-final clash between India and New Zealand is finally taking place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 15. India won the crucial toss and opted to bat first after which skipper Rohit Sharma provided a cracking start to the team by scoring 47 runs off just 29 deliveries which included 4 fours and as many sixes. However, he fell 3 runs short of his half-century, and then Virat Kohli walked into the ground.

Meanwhile, in a nail-biting moment during the recent clash, Anushka Sharma, the Bollywood actress and wife of former India captain Virat Kohli, found herself on an emotional rollercoaster as Kohli narrowly survived a close LBW appeal. The incident took place during the 9th over of the match. Kohli was facing his 2nd delivery of the match, he looked to defend but it into his pads went for four.

The Kiwis appealed but they were unaware of the fact that there was an inside edge. New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson asked his troops and went upstairs. They ultra edge clearly showed that the ball had nicked his bat. Anushka took a sigh of relief after that and the cameras didn’t miss capturing Anushka’s intense reaction in the stands.

The LBW decision was under scrutiny, and it seemed like Kohli’s innings could be cut short. Anushka, like millions of cricket fans worldwide, couldn’t hide her nerves as the fate of the Indian skipper hung in the balance. Talking about the match, after winning the toss and a great start provided by the skipper himself, Kohli and Shubman Gill took the innings forward without taking much risks and stitched a brilliant 93-run stand, however, Gill got retired hurt due to cramps. It’d be interesting to see if he comes back or doesn’t. At the time of writing, India are 203/1 after 29 overs.
