WATCH: Afghanistan players dance to ‘Lungi dance’ after winning against Pakistan in ODI WC 2023
Afghanistan defeated Pakistan for the first time in the World Cup history. When almost none expected them to beat Pakistan, Afghanistan did the unthinkable to beat Pakistan in MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai. Afghanistan beat the former world champions by 8 wickets and created history. It was only the third win for Afghanistan in the history of the ODI World Cup. It meant a lot for Afghanistan.
The men in blue have been in good form in the ongoing tournament. They have beaten two strong teams England and Pakistan in the tournament already. For the first time in their cricket history, Afghanistan has beaten both these teams in a big tournament like the World Cup. After the win, Afghanistan players celebrated a lot. It continued for a long time. There was no end to their celebrations.
In the stadium, all the players celebrated the win. Rashid Khan danced in the stadium after the win. The players gave the crowd a lap of honour for supporting them. The crowd acknowledged the win of Afghanistan. Later in the dressing room, the players were seen celebrating the win by dancing. Even after the match, the former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan joined Rashid Khan in the dance.
Afghanistan players dance to ‘Lungi Dance’ in Team bus
After Afghanistan players left the stadium and headed towards the hotel, the celebration did not stop. Even in the team bus, the players were seen dancing. Interestingly, Rahmanullah Gurbaz was seen dancing to ‘Lungi Dance’, a famous Bollywood song. The song is famous for Tamilians, as it involves some Tamil words and is based in south India. The dance of the players went viral on social media.
The famous Afghanistan fan, Wazhma Ayoubi, shared the footage on X. “Since I can’t post my video of dancing, here is a fun one from our #Atalan. But rest assured, I danced with joy and will continue dancing for days to come, celebrating this sweet victory. Dance your hearts out, our heroes. You deserve all the happiness. Mashallah #AFGvPAK” wrote Ayoubi on X.
