WATCH: Aaron Finch announces retirement from Big Bash League

Aaron Finch announces his retirement from the BBL for Melbourne Renegades. The former Australian captain arrived in the post-match conference to confirm the same along with the broadcasters. Finch is likely to retire from T20 cricket as well. The reports claim that he might well retire from all formats of the game in near future. If what reports suggest are to be believed, it might be sad for the fans.

Finch recalled of his career for Australia and Melbourne Renegades. The star batter felt that his career had some real lows but great highs, letting the viewers know of his campaign in Australia winning the ODI WC 2015 and the T20 WC 2021. Finch said that he loved his journey. Finch added that winning the BBL was a great moment for him and added that he would remember it forever.

“There’ve been some real lows but great highs [too], and I’ve loved every bit of the journey. No moment can compare to winning the BBL title. That, for me, was very special, and something I’ll remember,” said Finch. The star batter played for Renegades in the entire career and felt proud doing so. Finch expressed that he is grateful for the same.

“I’m really proud to have played at one club for the entirety of my career. The Renegades have been a huge part of my life, and I’m so grateful for everything they’ve given me,” added Finch. The star cricketer is no more a part of Renegades in the ongoing season. Reports claim that Finch might be given a farewell by Melbourne Renegades on the 13th of January.

Finch thanked everyone involved in his career. The star cricketer concluded thanking his fans, members, supporters, and teammates who were a part of his success in the BBL. “To everyone who’s been part of the journey with me – our members, fans, supporters, my team-mates and all who have had a part to play at the club at all levels – thank you,” Finch concluded.
