VVS Laxman appointed India’s interim head coach for Asia Cup 2022

The current NCA chief coach VVS Laxman has been appointed as the interim head coach of the Indian cricket team for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022

Team India will begin their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on August 28th in Asia Cup 2022

Rahul Dravid, India’s head coach, has tested positive for Covid-19 and is not traveling with the rest of the team.

Rahul Dravid has been under isolation after testing positive for Covid-19 and will be joining the rest of the test once he is tested negative

The BCCI released an official statement that stated, “VVS Laxman, Head Cricket, NCA will be the interim Head Coach for Team India (Senior Men) for the upcoming ACC Asia Cup 2022″

It also added, “Mr. Laxman, who traveled with the Indian team that played the ODI series in Zimbabwe will oversee the team’s preparation in the absence .M

Mr. Rahul Dravid, who tested positive for COVID-19 before the team’s departure to the UAE.”

“Mr. Dravid will join the team once he tests negative and is cleared by the BCCI Medical Team”. BCCI added

Team India Squad for Asia Cup 2022 Announced

Captain Rohit Sharma will be leading the side in the Asia Cup event which is scheduled to take place in UAE from August 27th, 2022
Star batsman Virat Kohli returns to India’s T20I squad for the Asia Cup. He last played for Team India in the England tour which happened in July
KL Rahul also returned as vice-captain, after a long break due to a rib injury and Covid-19-related health issues.

Jasprit Bumrah will not be available for selection due to a back injury. He along with Harshal Patel who also missed out due to injury will be undergoing rehab at NCA in Bangalore

Team India will begin their campaign in a high-octane clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on August 28th.

The mega event feature five teams- India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan.

The tournament will be an important one as teams look to prepare themselves before the T20 World Cup begins in Australia this October.

Team India has won the most titles (7) in the tournament history which was last played in the ODI format.

Team India last won the Asia Cup title in 2018 by beating Bangladesh in Dubai in a thriller

The super four stages of the tournament start on September 3rd and the final will be played on September 11th in Dubai.

The matches start at 6 pm local time and 7.30 pm In India, with the majority of games in Dubai and three in Sharjah.
