Shubman Gill didn’t recover in time: Rohit Sharma

Talking about the exciting contest, India suffered a huge setback when their young sensation Shubman Gill tested positive for dengue ahead of the match. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma came for the toss and announced that Gill is still recovering and the left-handed wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan will replace him as an opener in the match.

“The conditions are there for the bowlers and the ball will turn as the game goes on, you need to understand what line and lengths to bowl and adjust accordingly. We played a lot of cricket before that, we played two good series before the warm-up games, we have covered all bases. Unfortunately, he (Shubman Gill) didn’t recover in time, we waited till today morning and he couldn’t recover. Ishan comes in to replace him, he will open the batting.” Rohit said during the toss.

On the other hand, Australia are also playing without their star allrounder Marcus Stoinis who is suffering from a hamstring injury and his comeback is still unknown. However, the Kangaroos still have a balanced side and will be giving a tough fight to the Men in Blue.
