Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma exchange batting tips ahead of second WI vs IND Test

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma share a great bonding on the field contrary to what their fans’ behaviour on social media may suggest. The duo is currently engaged in Team India’s tour of the West Indies. They have already started the tour on a great note by beating the hosts in the first test in Dominica by a humungous margin of an innings and 141 runs. They are now turning their heads to the second Test in Trinidad. Notably, this is the first series for India in the new 2023-25 cycle of the World Test Championship.

Ahead of the second test in Trinidad, the Indian skipper and former skipper were seen practicing their skills with the willow. The duo was seen in their batting kits exchanging tips with each other. While practicing together they had frequent chats are tried to help each other with their technique. Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had a great outing in the first Test at Dominica. While Kohli missed out on his century after scoring a dazzling 76 off 182, Rohit Sharma registered a century alongside debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Virat Kohli is set to play his 500th international game

Interestingly, the next Test will also mark the 500th international game for Virat Kohli. He is set to become the fourth Indian cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and MS Dhoni to reach 500 international games. He missed out on his century in the first Test but will be determined to make his 500th game special by registering his 30th Test ton.

The Indian cricketers were earlier greeted by Brian Lara also known as the Prince of Trinidad. In a video posted by the Indian Cricket Board, Brian Lara was seen ignoring a phone call to greet Virat Kohli and have a short catch-up chat with him. He also met other Indian players including skipper Rohit Sharma, pacer Mohammed Siraj, and Test specialist Ajinkya Rahane. Notably, Lara joined the coaching setup of the West Indies team ahead of their multi-format series against India.
