Vihari to play county cricket during IPL

Indian middle-order batsman Hanuma Vihari is considered a Test specialist.

For this reason, he hasn’t been picked by any IPL franchise since 2019, where he only played two matches.

Vihari helped India draw the third Test against Australia in Sydney after playing a courageous innings of 23 off 161 balls on the final day.

This year, he had a base price of 1 crore but despite this, there were no takers for him.

Instead of smarting over this rejection, Vihari is using this an opportunity to prepare for the World Test Championship against New Zealand in June.

Vihari will play at least three games for Warwickshire.

This will undoubtedly help him get acclimatised to the English conditions where the ball seams more.

Vihari also played for Andhra Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare series but scored just one fifty in six innings.

Going to England to rediscover his form is probably the best decision Vihari can take.
