Following his acclaimed performance as Sam Manekshaw in the film Sam Bahadur, the talented Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal is set to star alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the highly anticipated movie Dunki. While Vicky initially remained silenced about his role in Dunki, he has now begun to share insights into his experience working with SRK after the release of Sam Bahadur.

On a recent episode of the popular talk show ‘Koffee With Karan’ hosted by Bollywood director and producer Karan Johar, Vicky made a surprising revelation. He shared that Shah Rukh Khan had apologized to him during the filming of Dunki. This disclosure has added an intriguing element to the anticipation surrounding the upcoming collaboration between these two acclaimed actors.

“In one of the shoot days, he had to rush to Delhi for a very important work and it couldn’t have happened at another time and another date. It was a very critical moment for my character in the film and it was with him. He just couldn’t be there for that shot and I had to give that shot with a body double. He got done with his work in Delhi and then he called me late in the night which I missed because there was an event.” Vicky was quoted as saying by News 18.

“He then sent me a long message saying, ‘Vicky, who shot hum dobaara karenge. I’m really sorry that I couldn’t be there to give the cues.’ I had to call him and convince him that it went okay and Raju sir is happy with the shot. I was also nervous if I could pull off that shot again. But he insisted we do it because he was feeling terrible about not being able to give his shoulder in the shot. The next day he came on set and saw those shots and only after he was happy with them did he decide that we don’t need to reshoot them.” he added.

I got to know why he is where he is and why he is the Badshah: Vicky Kaushal

Vicky Kaushal expressed admiration for Shah Rukh Khan, sharing that the superstar had complimented him by stating that Dunki is the best work of his career. Vicky described the experience of sharing the screen with SRK as incredible. Despite having a special appearance in the film, he emphasized the joy of working with the renowned director Rajkumar Hirani, highlighting the wonderful experience under Hirani’s guidance.

“Shah Rukh sir told me that Dunki is my best work till date. It was incredible to just meet him and then to share screen with him and work with him. There was so much to learn from him. I knew that there was a lot to learn from him as an actor but what hit me was I actually got to know why he is where he is and why he is the Badshah. He was on set as if it was his first film. I got to work with him for a few days as I had a special appearance but that role, that experience and being directed by Raju sir was magical and surreal for me.” he said.
