‘Tumhe Holi Khelne Ka To Man Hai Par Pichkari Mein Dum Nahi’ – When Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra body-shamed Vidya Balan
Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra was an on-screen power couple back in 2010s. Their sensual chemistry in the movie ‘Don’ had made them one of the most-loved pairings in Bollywood. The duo was seen taking up several gigs like doing promotional events, award shows and advertisements together other than the regular movies. As such, there was one instance where the two tried to pull off a joke but it went horribly wrong.
Back in 2012’s Zee Cine Awards, Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra presented a parody of the superhit film of the year, ‘Dirty Picture’ starring Vidya Balan, Tushar Kapoor, Emran Haashmi, Naseruddin Shah among others. Shah Rukh Khan was impersonating Naseruddin Shah’s character from the film whereas Priyanka Chopra played the role of Vidya Balan. She was seen wearing a bulked-up costume using funny props. However, the joke went on to become offensive rather than funny as the performance went on.
Dirty Picture was called the ‘Gandi’ Picture in the parody performance
The famous song Ooh La La was changed to include vulgar lyrics like “Body mein charbi badhaayi hai, khaa khaa badhaayi hai kahaan kahaan.” Shah Rukh then asked Priyanka, pretending to be Silk Smitha (Balan’s character from the movie), “Jab Milan Luthria ne tumhe sign kiya tha to role mein wazan daalne ko bola tha, wazan mein role nahi.” Priyanka Chopra also made sure to offend the film’s production with her comment to Shah Rukh, “Tumhe Holi khelne ka man to hai lekin tumhari pichkari mein dum nahi hai.”
Here’s the horrible parody act:
Recently, the video resurfaced on Reddit. Users were severly enraged to see two of the biggest Bollywood stars pulling off such an unpleasing act. Comments like, “I repeat srk and pc deserved each other I mean their most shameless celebrities I have ever seen” and “Incredibly offputting, hoping they don’t get away with nonsense like this nowadays publicly, bullying for the sake of “comedy”, gross” flooded the comment section.
