It was a tossed-up delivery from Rachin Ravindra, de Leede cleared his front leg and tried to chip it a bit square but ended up hitting it straighter. Boult at long-off took it reverse cup near the fence. He was aware that the momentum would take him over the ropes so he flicked the ball back with his left hand before going beyond the ropes and returned to the field of play and took it calmly.

Brilliant batting performance by New Zealand

This spectacular catch by Boult was very crucial as de Leede is in his prime form. During Netherland’s first match which was against Pakistan, the star allrounder displayed a brilliant batting performance by hitting an incredible half-century, however, it went into vain as no other batter could help him.

Talking about the match, New Zealand batters scored runs at a low rate as the pitch was quite tricky. Opener Will Young played a brilliant knock of 70 runs which included 7 fours and 2 sixes. Rachin Ravindra continued his bright form and smashed a half-century. Skipper Tom Latham looked in good touch as he scored 53 runs off just 46 balls.

However, it was Mitchell Santner, who pushed the New Zealand’s innings in the end by playing a quickfire knock of 36 runs off just 17 balls. During this, he smashed 3 fours and 2 sixes and helped the team to achieve a respectable total of 322 runs.
