Shubman Gill was awarded the CEAT Men’s International Cricketer of the Year at the CEAT Cricket Awards 2023. As such, Shubman Gill was also awarded the ‘ODI Batter of the Year’. Speaking on the occasion, the young batter said, “I’m honored to be selected as the recipient of the coveted CEAT Men’s International Cricketer of the Year. As a cricketer, it’s always about pushing boundaries, facing challenges head-on, and constantly improving to reach new heights. This recognition reinforces the parallel between our commitment to excellence and would encourage me to strive harder.”

Notably, the Gujarat Titans star was also asked at the same ceremony to equate Virat Kohli to a superhero. Gill replied in no time, “Hulk, he’s that Hulk energy.” Gill’s response has created quite a buzz on social media with fans participating in the conversation equally. Hulk is a Marvel character who is known for his burst of energy. The character personified by Mark Ruffalo transforms into a green giant when at peak power. Naturally, there were a lot of fans who mocked India skipper Rohit Sharma as the perfect personification of Hulk, given his fitness levels.
