Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer movie Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani directed by the veteran director Karan Johar who has also produced the movie under his production house Dharma Production was released on Friday, July 28. According to some reports, the movie has had a decent start at the box office.

Johar last directed a movie named Ae Dil Hai Mushkil seven years ago and the movie did really well in the box office. Fans were expecting the same with Rocky Aur… and it seems that the movie has delivered a great performance and impressed a lot of fans as well.  It is reported that the movie will have more collections than the recently released Rom-com starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor Tu Jhoothi Mai Makkaar.

The love story of the film Rocky and Rani is the story of Rocky Randhawa (Ranveer), the heir of a very rich Punjabi family in Delhi. Her grandmother Dhanalakshmi Randhawa (Jaya Bachchan) took charge of her ‘laddu’ business and took it to great heights after her grandfather Kanwal (Dharmendra) became wheelchair-bound in an accident.

Her son Tijori (Aamir Bashir) followed in his mother’s footsteps and took the business forward. Only and only Rocky’s grandmother runs the house. Rocky’s sister Gayatri (Shraddha Arya) is unable to get married because of her excess weight, which even her mother (Kshiti Jog) has to taunt. However, we won’t reveal much about the movie as it can spoil your fun. So we would advice you to watch the movie yourself and have fun.

Here are some reviews about the movie:

“Alia, as the educated and ambitious TV journalist, looks gorgeous in every single frame and is a sight for sore eyes in those lovely Manish Malhotra chiffon sarees with backless blouses. Ranveer as the flamboyant and boisterous Punjabi ‘Karol Bagh ka launda’ delivers an effortless act.” reviewed by the Hindustan Times

“With influences from the golden era of Bollywood, Karan Johar delivers a splendid cinematic experience, using space, pauses, and silences to enhance storytelling,” says Times Now

Jaya Bachchan is electrifying. Her commanding presence, authoritative attitude and cold stares — this is a stand-out act that’s sure to be talked about by moviegoers. Shabana Azmi is fantastic, delivers a controlled performance without going overboard in any sequence,” says film critic Taran Adarsh on Bollywood Hungama.
