Bollywood veteran actor and the winner of the Miss Universe 1994 pageant Sushmita Sen is set to feature in another web series Taali after the huge success of Aarya. The teaser of her upcoming series is already released and the entire series is set to be premiered on August 15.

Meanwhile, Sen recently talked about being trolled for the poster of the series. The actor was trolled by numerous nameless people on social media after she launched the first look of her upcoming series. Sen revealed that she blocked all of those people who were writing inappropriate comments about her and the transgender community.

“The first poster of Taali that I had released had half my face and the clap. I remember that in the comment section, there were lots of nameless people as social media is full of, writing ‘chhakka (eunuch)’ repeatedly. I thought, how can they do that to me? I took it very personally because it was happening on my timeline. I, of course, blocked all of them. But it hit me that if that’s how it’s making me feel when I’m only portraying Gauri Sawant’s life, they’re living with it every breathing moment of their life.” Sen was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

I thanked my stars that I had this opportunity: Sushmita Sen

Sen will be seen performing a character of a transgender woman named Shreegauri Sawant in the series. The series is based on the struggles transgenders face in their lives. Sen said that she thanked her stars that he got this opportunity to do the series.

“I thanked my stars that I had this opportunity to change this somehow. The only thing that god has given me and blessed my life with are people who love me with all their hearts. I know this and I’ve known this for three decades now. I thought that if I can be a medium through which the love that people have for me can be passed on to a community that has longed and ached for it, they deserve to have it.” she added.
