The Indian cricket team’s performance in the 2023 World Cup has been nothing short of spectacular. With four consecutive victories in their first four matches, the Men in Blue have left both fans and experts singing their praises. Every player has been giving their absolute best, whether with the ball or the bat.

Notably, India’s spin bowlers have shone brightly on the world stage, with Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav delivering outstanding performances. Meanwhile, in a twist that raised some eyebrows, former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir, known for his frankness in expressing cricket views, diverted attention from the Indian spin duo.

Instead, he heaped praise on New Zealand’s left-arm spinner, Mitchell Santner. While Jadeja and Yadav displayed commendable skills, Gambhir took the opportunity to laud Santner as the best left-arm spinner in the world. Santner’s remarkable performance in the 2023 World Cup has indeed been noteworthy. Many fans reacted to this statement of Gambhir and shared their views on social media.

Mitchell Santner is currently the highest wicket-taker in ODI World Cup 2023

Santner currently leads the list of top wicket-takers in the tournament, having claimed an impressive 11 wickets in just four matches. In contrast, Jadeja and Kuldeep have secured 7 and 6 wickets, respectively, in the same number of matches. However, Gambhir’s candid remarks have become something of a trademark for the former cricketer, often grabbing headlines for their candour.

India and New Zealand are currently clashing against each other in the 21st match of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on Sunday, October 22. The winner of the match will grab the first position in the points table.

The Blackcaps were asked to bat first, however, they didn’t have a great start as they lost their first 2 wickets inside the first powerplay. But, Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell displayed brilliant batting performances by stitching a massive 159-run stand for the 2nd wicket and set the foundation for a big total.
