Mahesh Babu’s SSMB28, Prabhas’ Salaar, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, and more Telugu movie shoots in Tollywood are to be abruptly halted.

After resuming shoots just a little over a month ago, the Telugu film industry might face another strike or ‘bandh’ due to a growing issue.

Telugu films have not had a good year and only a few movies like RRR and Bangaraju have been successful in the box office, the rest of them not so good.

The Telugu film industry just ended an ongoing strike 45 days ago. Just when things were starting to look better, a strike is brewing yet again threatening the shoots of various upcoming movies starring the biggest stars of Tollywood.

This is due to the increasing friction between the Chamber Council and Federation of Workers.

According to Mirchi9, even though the previous strike ended not long ago there is likely possibility of the same thing happening as the federation of workers are unhappy with their wage disparity for which they have also issued a legal notice to the Chamber council.

Consequently, the friction is based on the Telugu Film Chamber issuing same or uniform wages for all movies which is not what used to happen earlier and the Federation of Workers demands to be paid differently for movies below or above ₹6 crores.

Currently, the talk is if this issue isn’t resolved there will be a indefinite strike commencing from 15th September 2022. Bigshot producers like Dil Raju and Allu Arvind have called for an emergency meeting to get things sorted out.

Let’s wait for the final verdict. Stay tuned to know more.
