‘Team 36 and polio smashed Bazzball’ – Fans react as India defeat England by 106 runs to make comeback in 2nd Test at Vizag

India won the 2nd Test at Vizag by 106 runs. A collective team performance ensured that India made a comeback in the series against England. In the process, India drew the series 1-1 with three games to go. Before the third Test at Rajkot, both the teams will get a rest for nine days. During this period, India is likely to announce the squad for the last three Tests of the series. 

India won the toss and elected to bat first. The wicket at Vizag had a bit for the pacers in it. There was some seam movement to offer and both the pacers, James Anderson and Jasprit Bumrah, made good use of it. Both the pace bowlers troubled the batters where they ended up outperforming the spinners in the match. The batters could not step up against the pacers. 

For India, Yashasvi Jaiswal was the star performer with the bat. The youngster became the third youngest Indian batter to score a double hundred in Tests. His knock was special as no other batter at the other team managed to score more than 35 runs. The knock of the Southpaw helped India to score 396 runs in the first innings. Many felt it was not good enough.

However, Bumrah’s masterclass with the ball helped India to dismiss England for just 253 runs. The star pacer claimed 6/45 in the first innings and bowled a sensational spell with the ball. Kuldeep Yadav was very good as well, who claimed three wickets. India got a lead of 143 runs, which proved to be handy. India scored 255 runs in the 2nd innings. Shubman Gill scored a hundred in the 2nd inning. 

Defending 399, India constantly picked wickets. Ravichandran Ashwin and Bumrah had claimed three wickets each in the innings for India. Some brilliant efforts in the field helped India to wrap up the match quickly. India won the match by 106 runs and made a brilliant comeback. Bumrah claimed nine wickets and won the Player of the Match award.
