‘Swagat nahi karoge humara?’ – Fans abuzz as Trent Boult set to make ODI return in upcoming series against England
Ace Kiwi speedster Trent Boult is all set to make his return to ODI Cricket in the national outfit in the upcoming ODI series against England. Notably, the pacer was released from New Zealand’s central contracts to allow him to play in various franchise leagues around the world. However, now he is set to make his return in national colours.
The Blackcaps have also announced the squad for the T20Is on the same tour and for those against UAE. Notably, the team will be led by Tim Southee in the shortest format and three players – Ish Sodhi, Mark Chapman, and James – will return home after the T20I series due to family commitments. The three-match T20I series against UAE will be played later in August. Following this, the T20Is against England will be played between August 30 and September 5. The ODIs will be played between September 8 to 15.
Michael Bracewell remains sidelined from the New Zealand team due to injury
“Mark Chapman and Jimmy Neesham will miss the series as they await the births of their first children, while Ish Sodhi is also returning home after the T20I series against England to spend time with his family ahead of a busy period of cricket,” an NZC statement was quoted as saying. Notably, allrounder Michael Bracewell has not been called up because he is still recovering from the injury he sustained back in June. “Michael Bracewell remains unavailable for selection as he continues to recover following surgery on his ruptured Achilles in June,” the statement added.
