‘SKY place in danger’ – Fans react as Ravichandran Ashwin practises reverse sweep to unleash surprise element in ODI World Cup 2023

The Indian Cricket team are all geared up for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 which is set to kick off on October 5 and will conclude on November 19. As the grand event is just around the corner, India’s playing XI concerns seem to be resolved as almost all batters and bowlers are in their prime form.

However, the only thing which the team management should be concerned about is allrounder options. The Men in Green may have the star allrounder Ravindra Jadeja in the squad but he has not been in great touch in the recent series. Meanwhile, India’s veteran allrounder Ravichandran Ashwin recently made a surprising entry in the squad in place of injured Axar Patel.

And it looks like Ashwin has taken the all-rounder job very seriously as he was spotted sweating out in the nets for almost 45 minutes. Ashwin has brilliant batting records in the Test format as he is a player who mostly depends on classical batting. But this time, Ashwin was spotted practising reverse sweep shots in the nets ahead of the World Cup. The fans took notice of it and shared their reaction to it.

Will Ashwin get a chance ahead of Shardul Thakur?

In the training session, Ashwin tried to play a few sweep shots against the spinners as the upcoming grand event will be played in India and most of the pitches are spin-bowling friendly. After the spin-bowling session, Ashwin tried tackling some throwdowns to check his defense.

After the long batting session, the veteran off-spinner went back to his bowling practise for almost half an hour. It won’t be surprising if Ashwin gets a chance in the squad ahead of Shardul Thakur who has failed to contribute anything to the team with his batting. He was also quite expensive in the recently concluded ODI series against Australia.
