Siddharth Anand responds to criticism over ‘Fighter’ Trailer

Siddharth Anand has reacted to those who have criticized the trailer of Fighter. The argument of the critics has been about the portrayal of Pakistan in the trailer. It has surely not gone well with many. Pakistan celebrities have taken to X and other social media platforms to criticize the trailer of the movie. The trailer has been viewed by a lot of people till now.

The movie stars Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. There are some other supporting actors as well in the movie. It includes some prominent names of the industry like Ashutosh Rana, Akshay Oberoi, Karan Singh Grover, Anil Kapoor, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and others. Directed by Siddharth, the movie is set to hit the theatres on the 19th of January.

It belongs to the Spy universe which is produced by Yash Raj Films. Anan is known for his previous venture, ‘Pathan’, which scripted a huge comeback for Shah Rukh Khan. Deepika was in the movie in a lead role. The trailer has elements where the motives of Pakistan are shown in a negative light. It has not gone well with the celebrities of Pakistan, who have commented on the same.

After seeing the trailer of Fighter, popular Pakistani actress Hania Aamir gave her opinion on Instagram. “So sad and unfortunate to know that there are artists out there in this day and age who are aware of the power that the cinema holds and still go ahead and feed the riff between the two countries. I feel sorry for the artists who try to bridge the gap by trusting their art as a medium. Distasteful; let art breathe,” wrote the Pakistani actress.

Anand replied to all the comments of those who criticized the movie. In particular, he replied to the comments of Hania. Taking to X, Siddharth wrote, “Didn’t she literally work in a movie which was anti-India? If Indian celebs have no issue with the anti-India stuff Pakistani celebs do in movies, why do Pak celebs care so much?” as he pointed out the hypocrisy of the actress.
