‘Sharma ji mast mood me rehte hain’ – Fans in splits after Rohit Sharma asks Ishan Kishan ‘Kya chahiye tereko’ on his birthday ahead of 2nd Test against West Indies

India are set to be back in action for the 2nd Test of the 2-match Test series against West Indies. The contest will take place at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain on Thursday, 20 July. The Men in Blue have already taken a 1-0 lead over the Caribbeans after defeating them in the 1st match by an innings and 141 runs.

Meanwhile, a video is getting viral on the internet ahead of the 2nd Test in which Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was asked about what gift he will be giving to Ishan Kishan, who celebrated his 25th birthday on 18 July. However, Rohit’s response left Kishan in splits as he asked Kishan what he wants on his birthday. Kishan made his Test debut in the first match and scored 1 run before Rohit declared the innings.

“What birthday gift he wants? Kya chahiye bhai tereko?’ (What do you want brother?) You have everything. We should ask the team about this. It should be the team’s contribution. Birthday gift tu hum logo ko dey bhai 100 – run karkey (You should give us a birthday gift by scoring 100 runs),” Rohit said.

India clinched a convincing victory against West Indies in the first match as the Windies’ players displayed a poor performance both with the bat and the ball. Many fans and cricket experts believe that the Caribbean side is no more a dominant team. However, Rohit talked about the upcoming 2nd Test and is hoping that the Kraig Braithwaite-led side will bounce back and will make the series exciting for both teams.

“It’s an honour to be taking the Indian team into this game and it doesn’t happen every day. The two teams have so much history, so much of good cricket played. I will expect no different in this Test. I am sure they (Windies) will bounce back and it will be exciting for both teams,” he added.
