West Indies pacer Shamar Joseph seems to be having a great time in his cricketing career. He recently made his international career in the two-match Test series in Australia. In the second Test, he took seven wickets and won the game for his side by eight runs. Meanwhile, his heroics in the Gabba Test seem to have been noticed by the 2017 PSL winner, Peshawar Zalmi.

Joseph has been named as the replacement for England pacer Gus Atkinson. The latter is with the Three Lions in the ongoing five-match Test series against India. The series will end on March 11 and only after this, he will be available for Zalmi. Notably, the West Indies player has been named as the partial replacement. However, despite this, he will remain part of the Yellow Brigade.

Peshawar Zalmi: Babar Azam, Rovman Powell, Noor Ahmad, Saim Ayub, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Asif Ali, Mohammad Haris, Aamir Jamal, Naveen-ul-Haq, Khurram Shahzad, Salman Irshad, Arif Yaqoob, Umair Afridi, Daniel Mousley, Haseebullah, Mohammad Zeeshan, Lungi Ngidi and Mehran Mumtaz.

Shamar Joseph was the Player of the Series against Australia

Meanwhile, the right-arm pacer was the Player of the match for the Gabba Test. Apart from this, he was the Player of the Series for 57 runs and 13 wickets in two games. Notably, he scored 36 runs batting at number 11.

“I just want to shout out my teammates for their encouragement. I want to keep pushing through the pain for my team and the people of the Caribbean. The doctor called me this morning and he asked he how I’m feeling and I said I was in a lot of pain. He told me to come to the ground and he believed I could do it. When I took my five-for it was tears of joy and happiness,” Joseph said after the second Test.
