Second season of ILT20 to feature top stars of cricket
The 2nd edition of the DP World International T20 League (ILT20) is set to start from the 19th of January. The tournament will feature some of the top stars in the world. Most of them are from some of the top teams in the world like England, Pakistan, and Australia. The tournament is set to begin on the 19th of January and will go on till the 17th of February.
The tournament is hosted by the UAE and features 34 games in the group stage. David Warner will be seen in action in the tournament. The star batter recently retired from Tests and ODIs in order to concentrate on T20 cricket. He will be leading Dubai Capitals. On the other hand, the Kiwi pacer Trent Boult will be playing for MI Emirates as the key pace bowler.
There are many established T20 superstars in the league. The likes of Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Rashid Khan will be in action. The tournament will feature a total of 6 teams. They include the likes of MI Emirates, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Sharjah Warriors, Desert Vipers, Adani Sportsline’s Gulf Giants, and Dubai Capitals. All of them have owners based in India.
Pakistan players get NOC to take part in ILT20 2024
To take part in the tournament, many star players from Pakistan have got an NOC from their board. Some of the very popular names like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen, and others have got the NOC. Speaking about the league, the authorities of the league have claimed the tournament to have witnessed a huge increase in viewership, particularly from India. It is claimed that there has been a reach to the league.
There has been a reach of over 250 million in India according to the statement of the organizers. “The deep distribution and disruptive marketing strategy for the second season aims to further enhance the league’s reach and ensure widespread viewership, emphasizing ILT20’s appeal to a broad and diverse audience. In the previous season, the league achieved a remarkable reach of over 250 million across India,” claimed the organizers.
