The Indian cricket board announced before the West Indies tour that a fantasy brand will be the lead sponsor of the Indian team for the next three years. The logo of the app will appear on the jersey of the Indian team from the Test series to be held on the West Indies tour. This will be Team India’s first match in the World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle. The new brand has replaced Byjus as the sponsor.

India cricketers who are part of the upcoming Test series against West Indies, also did a photoshoot wearing the new jersey. However, many fans have criticised the Indian Cricket board as they believe that the logo has overshadowed the jersey and they believe that the WTC 2023 final jersey was much better than the new one.

West Indies are no more the force: Sunil Gavaskar

Talking about the Test series, the selection committee has given a chance to new players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, it’d be interesting to see who will play in place of the veteran batter Cheteshwar Pujara as he is dropped from the squad. Meanwhile, former legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has appreciated India’s decision to pick young players.

“West Indies are no more the force they were in the last century as can be seen by the fact that they are currently playing in Zimbabwe to try and qualify for the ODI World Cup that they won twice in the 70s. So picking some younger players for the Test series would have made more sense.

What is Indian cricket going to learn by picking the same seniors for the two Test matches who have now failed to deliver in two World Test Championship finals? How does it even matter if they score heaps of runs and take a bunch of wickets in the Caribbean apart from it bulking up their individual career stats,” Gavaskar was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
