India has made three changes to their lineup in the 2nd Test. Two of them have been a forced change and another is a tactical change. India has replaced KL Rahul with Rajat Patidar and Ravindra Jadeja by Kuldeep Yadav. On the other hand, Mukesh Kumar comes in for Mohammad Siraj, who has been left out of the 2nd Test to provide some rest.

Keeping in mind the workload management, Siraj has been rested for the Vizag Test. The Indian Cricket Board confirmed on X that Siraj would be available for selection at Rajkot for the 3rd Test. The biggest news of the selection is the debut of Rajat Patidar. The talented batter is likely to bat at Number 4 as a replacement for KL Rahul.

After scoring a lot of runs in domestic cricket for years, the aggressive batter has a chance to make his debut in the longest format of the game. Rajat received his Test cap from the former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan, a moment he would cherish for the rest of his life. Shubman Gill has got the backing of the management despite the bad form.

Sarfaraz Khan waits for his Test debut

Sarfaraz Khan has not had an opportunity to make his Test debut yet. The right-handed batter got his maiden call-up after the injury of KL Rahul. However, the middle-order batter must wait a bit longer for his Test debut. India has backed Shreyas Iyer who has been out of form as well in the last year or so. Sarfaraz has good numbers in FC cricket. It looks like his time has not come yet.

Kuldeep Yadav has made it to the side as the replacement for Ravindra Jadeja. The chinaman spinner was obvious to make it to the side given his ability to perform in home conditions. In a major surprising move, India decided to not play Washington Sundar in the 2nd Test. It was strange because he was almost a similar player to Jadeja and has a good record in Tests so far.
