Sania Mirza releases statement over divorce rumours after Shoaib Malik gets married to Sana Javed
On Sunday, Sania Mirza confirmed that she and Shoaib Malik had been divorced for a while. This has happened only a day after Malik wed well-known Pakistani starlet Sana Javed. Sania and her team issued a statement asking for “privacy” and urging fans to avoid speculating on social media.
The actress confirmed their marriage by changing her bio from Sana Javed to Sana Shoaib Malik. She has also been posting pictures from their wedding on Instagram. Malik announced this on social media on Saturday by sharing images along with an exquisite caption. The caption said, “And we created you in pairs.”
However, shortly after this Sania Mirza and her family issued a public release. Sania shelled out some serious information about their relationship. At the same time, she also wished the best to Shoaib Malik for his future.
The statement read as follows, “Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead! At this sensitive period of her life, we would like to request all fans and well- wishers to refrain from indulging in any speculation and to respect her need for privacy.”
Previous rumours about divorce involving Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik
There were many rumours that Sana and Shoaib had been dating for a while. There also was much discussion about his breakup with Sania. Nevertheless, neither the six-time Grand Slam champion Sania nor the former captain of the Pakistan cricket team addressed the divorce reports. They both have been seen in Dubai during their son Izhaan Mirza Malik’s fifth birthday last year.
Malik even wrote a touching message on social media following Sania’s final Grand Slam game at the Australian Open 2023 mixed doubles final, applauding her accomplishments. The two invited a number of guests to present a chat show in the United Arab Emirates.
