The 17th edition of the IPL is just a little more than a couple of weeks away from starting. The anticipation among the fans is building towards the league which will be crucial for the players head of the T20 WC 2024. The captains play a key role in the success of a team. With ten teams in the league, there will be pressure on each team to perform well individually.

KL Rahul happens to be the skipper who will be paid the second highest in the IPL 2024. He was retained by LSG for a price of INR 17 crores. Hardik Pandya got traded from GT to MI for a price of INR 15 crores. The star player would be hoping to return to form by performing well for MI both as a player and as a captain.

Sanju Samson from RR is third on the list among the highest-paid IPL captains. He is retained by RR for a price of INR 14 crores. Shreyas Iyer, who missed playing the IPL 2023 due to an injury, will be back in action for KKR. He has made it to the side as the skipper as KKR have retained him for a price of INR 12.25 crores.

Salaries of CSK, RCB, and SRH captains

Star player MS Dhoni has been retained by CSK for a price of INR 12 crores. He will be in action for the first time since the IPL 2023. Shikhar Dhawan will be paid INR 8.25 crores for taking part in the league. Gujarat Titans will see a new captain in Shubman Gill, who has been retained for a price of INR 8 crores.

RCB will see Faf Du Plessis leading them again, who has been retained for a price of INR 7 crores. As Rishabh Pant is unlikely to lead DC, David Warner will step up, who was retained by DC for INR 6.25 crores. SRH has announced a new captain for the IPL 2024. Pat Cummins is their skipper, who was picked by the orange army for a whopping price of INR 20.50 crores in the auction.
