Former Indian speedster S Sreesanth has come up with some bold predictions about the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. Notably, 12 years back in the year 2011, Sreesanth was an active member of the World Champion Team India that won the title in the ODI World Cup 2011, which was also played in India.

He was one of the close witnesses of former Indian great Yuvraj Singh’s iconic performances throughout the entire tournament both with the bat and the ball. Subsequently, the star Southpaw also won the ‘Player of the Tournament award for his match-winning all-round performances for India.

Meanwhile, Sreesanth has come up with some predictions about the potential ‘Player of the Tournament from Team India. He counted on the star all-rounder Hardik Pandya and felt that the latter could play a similar role for the men in blue in the upcoming edition, what Yuvraj did in the ODI World Cup 2011.

“Yuvi Paaji did it for us so if you look at the Man of the Series award.” – S Sreesanth

“Yuvi Paaji did it for us so if you look at the Man of the Series award and if you think an all-rounder should do it then Hardik Pandya could be close to that award. He will be important for India. Kuldeep Yadav can also win it or be among the top three contenders if he keeps shattering records in the World Cup,” said S Sreesanth to Sportskeeda during an exclusive conversation.

“Don’t forget Hardik’s fastest hundred. Don’t forget Bumrah’s two five-wicket hauls. Kuldeep Yadav will bowl the best spell ever seen by an Indian spinner,” he added later.

Notably, India are currently in action in the ongoing three-match ODI series against Australia, in which, Hardik Pandya, alongside skipper Rohit Sharma and former skipper Virat Kohli, has been rested from the first two ODIs of the series. These three will be back with Team India in the third and last ODI of the series.

India will start their ODI World Cup 2023 run with their campaign opener against the five-time World Cup Champions, Australia on Sunday, October 8.
