The Premier League is about to kick off in less than a week.

Yet, the future of one of the biggest names in football is still hanging in the air.

Cristiano Ronaldo is trying everything to force a move out of Man United.

In Manchester United’s 1-1 friendly draw with Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford on Sunday, he left the ground before full-time.

This was after Ronaldo was substituted by Ten Hag at half-time after his first appearance for the club in 12 weeks.

Apparently, Ronaldo and Diogo Dalot left the stadium around the 80th-minute mark.

In fact, a fan attempted to jump the barrier and embrace Ronaldo before security intervened.

Ronaldo waved at fans from his car as he prepared to drive off.

Many Man United were furious with his behaviour.

One Twitter user wrote – Would be nice to see him leave the club as well before the transfer window ends!

United refused to comment on whether Ronaldo’s early departure was sanctioned by manager Erik ten Hag.

What’s happening on the transfer front?

On July 5th, Ronaldo dropped a shock request to leave the club this summer just 12 months after he sealed an emotional return to the club from Juventus.

But so far, Man United has refused to relent.

United have taken a strong stance over Ronaldo’s future by insisting that he is not for sale.

They have also pointed out that he still has a year left to run on the two-year deal he signed.

In fact, Ronaldo’s options for a new club growing smaller by the day.

All the clubs in contention, namely Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Chelsea have pulled back, scared by Ronaldo’s lofty United wages.

However, that has not stopped Ronaldo from continuing to insist that he wants to play in the Champions League next season.

He missed United’s pre-season tour of Asia and Australia due to ‘personal reasons’ and only returned to the fold last week.

Even super agent Jorge Mendes has been pulled into the fray.

Mendes reportedly told Manchester United to ‘name their price’ for Cristiano Ronaldo as he attempts to get the Portuguese superstar out of Old Trafford.

But right now, it looks like a stalemate as Ronaldo looks likely to be stuck with United for the time being.

Other transfer news

In other transfer news, RB Leipzig are reportedly ‘increasingly confident’ of sealing a deal for former striker Timo Werner.

The German only left the Red Bull Arena three years ago in a switch to Chelsea.

Apparently, the German side held talks with Chelsea over the past few days and are optimistic of sealing his signature on either a permanent or loan deal.

Juventus are also interested in the German though RB Leipzig is the most likely destination.

Napoli are in talks with Chelsea over the loan signing of Spain goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, 27.
