Rohit Sharma opens up on his future with Indian team in T20I format

India skipper Rohit Sharma is yet to play a T20I game after the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. The Men In Blue lost the semis and he played a slow innings. Since then, the Indian Cricket Board took a different direction as they decided to rest Sharma and Virat Kohli from the format. With the ODI World Cup scheduled this year, both players have been asked to concentrate on ODIs.

During the ongoing tour of the West Indies, the Asian side has lost one ODI and a T20I. In both games, both players didn’t play as they rested for the T20I series. Apart from this, both players didn’t play the two ODIs. They lost the second ODI and the team management and the board was roasted by the fans. Recently, the team also lost the first T20I.

This has led to a section of fans thinking about whether Sharma and Kohli making a comeback in the team. Not to forget, West Indies and the USA will host the T20 World Cup next June. Meanwhile, Sharma has opened up about his T20I future.

Meanwhile, a video of the two-time World Champion meeting fans in the US has been going viral. As he is on break, some Indian-origin met the Indian skipper. During the meetup, the right-hander said that the T20 World Cup next year will be another reason to arrive in the United States.

“More than just going and enjoying, there is another reason to come here (in the USA). Because you know the World Cup is coming. In June, there will be the T20 World Cup (2024) happening in this part of the world. So, I’m pretty sure everyone is excited. So yaa, we look forward to that,” Rohit said in a video that is going viral on the internet.
