Rohit Sharma feels sad for Shoaib Bashir not getting visa in time

Rohit Sharma was in the press conference ahead of the first day of the first Test against England. The Indian captain spoke about the visa issue Shoaib Bashir has been facing. As the youngster missed out on the first Test, Sharma felt sorry for Bashir and added that if he were in control of issuing visas, he would have given the details. Rohit wished Bashir to get visas quickly.
“I feel for Shoaib Bashir – Unfortunately, I don’t sit in the Visa office to give you more details, but I hope he gets it quickly & enjoys our country,” said Rohit in the press conference. The statement of Sharma comes after the England captain Ben Stokes expressed his disappointment regarding the delay in the visa process. As a result, Bashir had to fly home from Dubai.
After the issue regarding the visa, the Indian opener was asked about Bazball. The star batter claimed that he was not interested in knowing how the opposition would play. The 36-year-old was only focused on how India goes about their business. “I’m not interested in how the opposition is going to play. We will look to play our cricket,” added the Indian captain.

The experienced campaigner added that everyone must talk about it and have future generations interested in the format. “Test cricket is the format that challenges you a lot so we must talk more about the test and for future generations,” added the star batter in his statement.
Rohit spoke about missing Virat in the first two Tests. Rohit gave the reason behind going with an inexperienced player like Rajat Patidar as a replacement for Kohli in the first two Tests. “We thought of going back to an experienced player to fill Kohli’s absence but then when will we give the youngsters the chance as we don’t want them to be exposed directly in foreign countries,” the Indian skipper added.
