Mohammed Rizwan of Pakistan has regained his No. 1 position in the latest standings, with 854 points.

In-form India batter Suryakumar Yadav is in second position, after losing his top position in the ICC T20I list by a few ranking points.

The difference between the two is a mere 16 ranking points with Surya at 838.

The 32-year-old Yadav will get another chance to claim top billing during the T20 World Cup in Australia.

Surya’s rise has been meteoric and he finished India’s recent T20I series at home against South Africa strongly with two half centuries.

He was also India’s leading run scorer with a total of 119 runs.

On the other hand, Rizwan also finished the recent seven-match T20I series against England as the leading run scorer with 316 runs.

If the keeper-batter was not rested for the sixth game of the series, Rizwan would have increased the gap between himself and Surya.

Surya also lost out a chance to overtake Rizwan by getting out for just eight in the 3rd T20 match against South Africa.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam remained third on the latest T20I batter rankings.

India opener KL Rahul jumped seven spots to 14th on the back of his 108 runs from two matches against the Proteas.

The South African trio of Quinton de Kock (up eight spots to 12th), Rilee Rossouw (up 23 places to 20th) and David Miller (up 10 spots to 29th) were the other movers.

Dawid Malan rose one spot to fifth after a consistent series for England against Pakistan.

Amongst the bowlers, Australian seamer Josh Hazlewood maintained the top spot for T20I bowlers.

Afghanistan leggie Rashid Khan (second), Sri Lanka star Wanindu Hasaranga (third) and Australia veteran Adam Zampa (fourth) are in hot pursuit of Hazlewood.

There is a profusion of the spinners in the Top 10 list.

Spinners Tabraiz Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj of South Africa and England’s Adil Rashid are part of this elite club.

India veteran Ravichandran Ashwin jumped a whopping 28 places to 20th overall.

Another notable performer has been England seamer Reece Topley who improved nine spots to 14th following five wickets from four matches against Pakistan.
