Rajkumar Hirani confirms OTT debut with 12th Fail hero Vikrant Massey

Recently, Rajkumar Hirani’s critically acclaimed film, Dunki released in the theaters, featuring Shah Rukh, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, etc. The film is about Indian youngsters trying to get settled in Western countries without having any aim in life. More importantly, they didn’t have enough legal documents to even enter these countries. While the film is critically acclaimed, Hirani has announced that he will make his OTT debut with Vikrant Massey.

“I’m doing an OTT show, which we actually start shooting this month. I’m a showrunner for that, I’m not directing it. It’s a show for Hotstar (Disney Hotstar) and Vikrant Massey is playing a role in it.

Notably, Massey starred in another critically acclaimed film 12th Fail. the movie is about a real-life IPS officer who went through hardship before getting into the Police Service.

“It’s something I’m very happy about with the script and the way it has panned out. On this show, I’m really involved and it’s in my own space,” Hirani told PTI in a virtual interview.

Meanwhile, Hirani is famous for movies such as 3 Idiots, PK, and two parts of Munna Bhai MBBS. He was asked about the third part fo Munnai Bhai and he said that he wants to work on it.

“Luckily, COVID-19 gave us the time to sit at home and work on more scripts. I’m working on more scripts now in a month or so and we’ll start deciding where we will go,” he said.

“It’s not that I don’t want to do it, 100 percent I want to do it because I had fun making those films. After every film, I’ve tried to write one ‘Munnabhai’. So, I’ve five unfinished Munna Bhai scripts lying with me with various titles such as ‘Munna Bhai Chale America’, ‘Munna Bhai BA LLB’, and ‘Munna Bhai Chal Basse’.
