Rajat Patidar opened up about his Test call-up ahead of the 2nd Test against England. As Virat Kohli opted himself out of the first two Tests of the series, Patidar was called in as his replacement. With the injury of KL Rahul ruling him out of the series, there is a good chance of Patidar making his debut.

When asked about the injury he sustained last year, the RCB batter claimed that being injured is difficult for a player. Rajat added that he was thinking about the recovery time. The top-order batter felt that he accepted the fact and moved on to focus on recovery and retaining the form.

The 30-year-old added that he has played a lot with the Indian players in FC cricket. Patidar claimed that he has been discussing with Rahul Darvis in the last two series. “I have played with a lot of Indian players in the domestic circuit. I had been talking to Rahul (Dravid) sir since the last two series,” said Patidar.

I got to speak with him about batting, he shared his experience – Rajat Patidar

Patidar then spoke about the Indian captain. Patidar claimed that he did not have much interaction with the 37-year-old before joining the Indian squad and added that he got to speak with Rohit Sharma regarding batting.

Rajat felt that Rohit helped him by sharing his experience in the nets, which increased his confidence. “I hadn’t spoken with Rohit Sharma too much before but on this tour, I got to speak with him about batting. He shared his experience in the nets. All this has increased my confidence,” added the batter from MP.

The talented cricketer felt happy about getting the India call-up after the injury. The aggressive batter claimed it to be a dream come true moment. “To get my first Test call-up after injury is something that makes me very happy. My first dream was always to represent India in Test cricket. I was playing matches for India A when I got that call and it felt great,” said Patidar to the broadcasters.
