Rahul Dravid tests Covid positive; doubtful for Asia Cup

Rahul Dravid, India’s head coach, has tested positive for Covid-19 and is not traveling with the rest of the team that will assemble in Dubai today for the Asia Cup.
It is believed Dravid had mild symptoms, which have receded. He will test again in two days’ time. Paras Mhambrey, the bowling coach, will step in till then.
Jasprit Bumrah will not be available for selection due to a back injury. He along with Harshal Patel who also missed out due to injury will be undergoing rehab at NCA in Bangalore
Team India will begin their campaign in a high-octane clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on August 28th. Team India will look to avenge their last defeat to Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021
The mega event will feature five teams- India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan.
The tournament will be an important one as teams will look to prepare themselves before the T20 World Cup begins in Australia this October.
Team India has won the most titles (7) in the tournament history which was last played in the ODI format.
Team India last won the Asia Cup title in 2018 by beating Bangladesh in Dubai in a thriller
The super four stages of the tournament will start on September 3rd and the final will be played on September 11th in Dubai.
The matches will commence at 6 pm local time and 7.30 pm In India, with the majority of games in Dubai and three in Sharjah.
