Shadab Khan played his career-best knock to chase down the total but he didn’t get enough support from the other end.

The Sultans scored 217 runs after batting first thanks to some unbelievable hitting from Tim David and Rilee Rossouw.

Due to their destructive batting, Multan Sultans smashed 93 runs in the last 5 overs.

Multan Sultans     20 overs     217-5

T. David 71 (29)               Wasim 1-39                                                                                                                      Rossouw 67*(35)             de Lange 1-48

Islamabad United   19.4 overs   197 all-out

Shadab 91 (42)              Khushdil 4-35                                                                                                                         Hales 23 (14)                   Willey 3-38

Multan Sultans maintained their winning streak by completing their fourth successive victory of the season.

Multan has registered 2 wins in two nights and most surprisingly, they have won both of these matches after batting first.

Rizwan was unlucky today as he got run-out on 12 runs only but Shan Masood continued his form and scored another good knock of 43 runs.

Multan started slowly and scored only 43 runs from the powerplay and they were even 73-2 at the end of 10 overs.

David and Rossouw’s outstanding hitting

Tim David and Rilee Rossouw smashed a superb partnership for the 4th wicket to give Multan Sultans a dream end to their innings.

Both of them dragged the score from 110-3 in 14 overs to 217-5 in 20 overs due to their big hitting.

Tim David was more aggressive than Rossouw in the partnership but Rossouw also opened his arms in the last part of the innings.

David showed an unbelievable hard-hitting display in the death overs.

He thrashed 71 runs off just 29 balls that included 6 fours and 6 superb sixes.

David and Rossouw shared a brilliant 110 runs stand between them that helped them to put 217 runs on the board.

Rilee Rossouw smashed three sixes in the last over of Hasan Ali.

Islamabad start strongly

The Islamabad United’s batters came out swinging the bat right from the start, and every one of them kept the momentum going.

The openers, Hales and Stirling started it off with some nice boundaries, Rahmanullah Gurbaz continued it with a four and a six, and Asif Ali also smashed 2 sixes before getting out.

But the real problem was created by Shadab Khan, who was in serious form.

His knock of 91 off 42 kept the chase alive despite continuously losing wickets at the other end.

In the end, Islamabad finished 20 runs short of the target

Shadab Khan’s fighting knock in stats

Shadab scored his career-best score of 91 runs today.

He smashed 5 fours and 9 sixes in his knock which is also the most number of sixes hit by an Islamabad United batter.

He got caught out on the 3rd ball after smashing a four and a six on the first 2 balls of the 19th over.

Khushdil’s 4 wicket haul

Khushdil Shah was once again the star with the ball for Multan Sultans as he picked up 4 wickets today.

Khushdil took his career-best 3 wickets in last night’s match and today he achieved his new career-best figures by picking up 4 wickets.

He has also become the highest wicket of this season so far.
