Things are not going well not Prithvi Shaw on the cricketing field.

Despite some sterling performances, he has still not found a place in the team.

What’s worse, Shaw has been involved in another controversy that will not help his case.

The basis of this controversy is a recent viral video.

In the video, Shaw can be seen fighting with a group of fans, who were reportedly unhappy that he refused to take a selfie with them.

The situation escalated, and Shaw was manhandled while his car was attacked.

Following the incident, Bhojpuri actress and social media influencer Sapna Gill, along with seven others, were booked by the Oshiwara Police.

While Ms Gill was arrested on February 16, Mr Thakur (19) was arrested on February 18, as per police.

Eight persons including Ms. Gill were charged with rioting, assault, putting a person in fear of death or grievous hurt in order to commit extortion and criminal intimidation by the Oshiwara police.

This was based on the complaint by Shaw’s friend Ashish Yadav.

However, Sapna Gill has launched a counter-offensive!

She has since made some startling claims, denying any involvement in beating anyone or requesting a selfie.

Gill stated that they were just enjoying themselves when one of her friends was beaten up.

Her lawyer has filed an application alleging that Shaw outraged Gill’s modesty in public and attacked her with a deadly weapon.

Gill has also claimed that she was molested, with someone touching her inappropriately.

According to Gill, she intervened in the fight to stop it and to help her friend.

Her friend tried to capture the incident on video, but Gill was hit with a baseball bat when she attempted to help.

Gill also alleges that she was slapped and inappropriately touched by one or two people during the altercation.

The details of the application

According to Ms Gill’s application, she and her friend Shobhit Thakur are regular patrons of the upmarket club, where the latter spotted Mr Shaw who was partying with friends and was allegedly drunk.

Mr Thakur being a cricket fan approached Mr Shaw for a selfie, which was met with hostility, the application alleged.

“Thakur, who is just a teenager, was unaware of the brutality of the drunken mob. Thakur was helpless and was unable to defend himself.”

“Hence, she (Gill) intervened and entered the fray trying to stop Shaw and others from further harming and injuring Thakur.” according to the application.

It further claimed that Ms Gill begged and pleaded with Mr Shaw, who was “inebriated” at the time.

Mr Gill’s application alleged Mr Shaw outraged her modesty, an offence punishable under 354 (molestation) and other provisions of the Indian Penal Code.

The situation is now being investigated by the police, and the truth remains unclear.
