Premier League Final Match week Predictions

Published

on

The 21/22 Premier League season is about to come to an end.

As the final round of matches is scheduled to go through on Sunday, the fate of the Premier League title is still undecided.

Manchester City will take a slender one-point lead over Liverpool when they take on Aston Villa.

If they lose points and Liverpool win their match against Wolves, Liverpool will be crowned as the Premier League champions.

To make sure they retain the title, Manchester City have no alternative to beating Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa at home.

The final spots for Champions League and Europa League qualification are also up for grabs.

Arsenal will hope Norwich will mark the end of their season with a win against Spurs.

Anything but a defeat for Tottenham will take them to the Champions League next season.

On the other hand, Arsenal will have to beat Everton at home to take advantage of Norwich’s win.

Otherwise, the Gunners will have to stay content with a Europa League spot.

Manchester United can finish no higher than sixth this season.

But, if they fail to win against Crystal Palace and West Ham beat Brighton, they will drop to seventh and have to play the Conference League next season.

Here’s our match-by-match prediction for the final Premier League game week:

Crystal Palace vs Manchester United

Having lost three of their last five Premier League matches, Manchester United will not go into this tie as favourites.

A draw against a resilient Crystal Palace side seem to be the most probable outcome for the Red Devils.

Predicted Score: Crystal Palace 1-1 Manchester United.

Arsenal vs Everton

Arsenal have had a topsy turvy season, particularly towards the end of the campaign.

But,  their opponents Everton have nothing much to play for after securing Premier League survival in the previous match.

The Gunners could take advantage of a tired Everton side and claim all three points.

But, that might not be enough to lead them to the Champions League.

Predicted Score: Arsenal 2-1 Everton

Chelsea vs Watford

Chelsea have ensured third place, and Watford will be playing Championship football next season.

Other than bragging rights, there’s nothing here to play for. We expect Chelsea to pick up a comfortable win, regardless.

Predicted Score: Chelsea 3-0 Watford

Leicester vs Southampton

Both Leicester and Southampton will be looking forward to get this disappointing season behind them.

We keep Leicester ahead because of their recent resurgence in form and their home ground advantage.

Our Prediction: Leicester 3-2 Southampton

Brentford vs Leeds

To stay up, Leeds United will have to better Burnley’s result against Newcastle.

So, the Yorkshire outfit will be desperate for a win against Brentford.

But, their poor defensive form might turn them down, eventually.

Our Prediction: Brentford 2-1 Leeds

Burnley vs Newcastle

Burnley will be fighting for survival on Sunday.

They need to have a better result than Leeds, but what gives them an advantage is that they will go through if they match Leeds’ result against Brentford.

Last week, Burnley showed their determination to fight till the end when they salvaged a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa.

We believe the Clarets will summon their fighting spirits and see off a Newcastle side, who haven’t been in great form away from St James Park.

Our Prediction: Burnley 2-1 Newcastle
