The team of Ponniyin Selvan or PS1 has planned an extensive promotional campaign to promote the film in important locations related to the Chola Dynasty.

Ponniyin Selvan or PS1 directed by Mani Ratnam boasts a star-studded cast consisting of Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sarath Kumar, Jayam Ravi, Prakash Raj, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Nizhalgal Ravi and Mohan Raman.

On 6th October, this exceptional star cast came together at the event of the official trailer launch of the movie accompanied by director Mani Ratnam and superstars Kamal Hassan and Rajnikanth who were invited as special guests.

As expected the event was a huge success and now the team is all set to aggressively promote the film all across the country.

According to a report in IndiaGlitz, the PS1 team has vast plans for cross-country promotions as the release of the movie approaches closer.  Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha Krishnan, Karthi, and Jayam Ravi along with others are headed to Thanjai Periya Kovil, a monument from the Chola period as the movie is substantially based on the Chola Dynasty and their kingdom.

Right after this, reports suggest that the cast will head to more important historical locations of the Cholas in Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Kochi, following which grand promotions are planned in Mumbai and Delhi as well as in Dubai, Singapore, and Malaysia since some of the actors have huge fan followings in these countries.

What’s also interesting is that Kamal Hassan at the trailer and audio launch event confessed that he wanted to make Ponniyin Selvan but Mani Ratnam beat him to it. Rajnikanth said that he wanted to play the role of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar but Mani sir refused.
