St Kitts & Nevis Patriots won their fourth clash in a row at the Caribbean Premier League 2021, beating Jamaica Tallawahs by wickets in the first game of the double header day.

Rutherford anchors Pats to victory

Sherfane Rutherford bagged another Man of the Match award.

Dwayne Bravo must be feeling lucky to have Rutherford in his team as the latter has taken on himself to finish the games for the Patriots.

After Evin Lewis got the team to a flying start, it seemed like the 167-run target will be easy to come by.

Devon Thomas, Asif Ali and Ravi Bopara did not stay for long, but Rutherford ensured his presence.

The left-handed hard hitter smashed bowlers all around to park to reach his half century off only 26 balls.

His staggering 192 strike rate, coupled by Fabien Allen’s fiery 12-ball 30, blew the Tallawahs out of the game.

Nevis Patriots clinched the game with 2.2 overs and six wickets in hand.

Where did Jamaica go wrong?

Rovam Powell’s men have been decent with the bat so far, but their batsmen did not turn up in this clash.

With all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite being the highest scorer at 27, it goes to show that they lacked a proper inning to add 20 to 25 more runs.

This would have made the total more challenging for the Patriots. 

Nonetheless, Powell himself batted too slow, scoring 24 off 27.

Kings stroll past Warriors in stunning comeback

Saint Lucia Kings looked out of the shape and got hammered in the last clash, but turned the tables on their opponents tonight.

They beat Guyana Amazon Warriors by a whopping 51 runs.

The 150-run target looked gettable on the track, but the Kings’ bowlers made this an uphill task for GAW.

Warriors return to hut at 98

No one could have predicted that only two batsmen in the Warriors side will enter the double figures on a low-chasing contest.

The top and middle order of Amazon Warriors failed miserably, resulting the team to collapse at 98/10.

Only captain Nicholas Pooran (41) and Odean Smith (31*) appeared in fine touch, but their contributions were too little to take the side to a victory.

After Obed McCoy and Alzarri Joseph picked three wickets altogether in the second inning, Jeavor Royal added his skills to the canvas.

The West Indian picked three wickets to keep the Warriors’ think-tank in check.

Chase gets MOTM

Roston Chase impressed once again.

The right-handed batsman struck 85 off 50 as he stood head and shoulders above batsmen on both sides.

His knock propelled the Kings to a respectable total.

After the Kings lost two early wickets, it seemed like they may not even hit the 100-run mark.

But the way Chase took off while rebuilding the innings after early loss of openers is highly commendable.

His partnership with Mark Deyal (20) was the most crucial when it comes to steadying the ship for the Kings.
